Vijayawada: Upset over failing her diploma examination, a 19-year-old girl ended her life by hanging from a fan in her room at her residence under Atkuru police station limits in Krishna district. The deceased was identified as Mughal Waheeda Bi, a native of Atkuru village.According to Atkuru police, the girl was in her third year of diploma and had failed four subjects in her second-year. The results were published on Monday.“Waheeda was disappointed with her dismal academic performance and hanged herself on Tuesday afternoon when no one was at home,” the police said. They added that the deceased’s brother, who returned in the evening and saw his sister hanging from the ceiling, immediately shifted her to Gannavaram govt hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.The police further said that the deceased’s father passed away five years ago due to illness, and she was living with her mother and brother in Atkuru. A case has been registered, and a probe is underway.
