Hyderabad: Burglars targeted the residence of a retired GST Superintendent and made away with gold, diamond ornaments, and cash worth Rs 60 lakh in Madhuranagar Colony.

According to initial reports, the intruders allegedly used duplicate keys to gain access to the house of Akula Hari Rao, located in Satyadevi Villas, Madhuranagar. They broke open the lockers and stole the valuables inside.

Hari Rao, along with his family, had left for his native place in Andhra Pradesh on June 21. Upon returning on June 24, he found the main door open and household items scattered.

Inside the house, he discovered that the locker in the bedroom had been forcibly opened and the valuables were missing.

Based on his complaint, the Madhuranagar police registered a case and launched an investigation.
