Back with an update on the Zedd. I took a break from autocross for a year or so after my bicycle accident back in 2023
Bhpian amitoj recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Last year, I attended a couple of sessions towards the end of the season just because they were so fun.
This year, it was time to change the engine and transmission mounts, as the garage had told me last year only that the rubber ones were badly cracked. So, I got the mounts changed and also installed a strut brace while they were at it.
The car’s handling totally changed for the better after that. I knew from past experiences that a strut brace reduces tramlining, but in this case, it totally got rid of it. I think it was worse because I was also running extreme performance summer tires, Falken Azenis RT660s.
Needless to say, I was itching to take the car to the track after this change. Finally got to try it out last Sunday. First heat started in the rain, so I was naturally tentative. But soon the surface had dried out, and it was nice and hot.
Ended the day with a “podium” finish of second place in my class. I had always been coming in behind Bob M, who was always behind Richard Lewis. This time, not only did I beat Bob M, but I also leapfrogged Richard L. In the true spirit of sportsmanship, at the end of the event, Bob found me and congratulated me on beating him.
Here’s the last run of the day with my fastest time:

My daughter rode shotgun, so if you hear someone trying to sing in the video, that’s her
