Samsung aims to maintain the top spot in the Android tablet segment and is working on at least two new flagship models. The upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 series likely consists of the Plus and Ultra variants.
Today, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra (SM-X936B) reached online benchmarks (via Xpertpick), revealing a few specifications and Samsung’s choice of chipset. As you may have guessed based on an earlier Tab S11+ benchmark, the Tab S11 Ultra will also powered by a chip from a Qualcomm rival.
Indeed, neither the Galaxy Tab S11+ nor the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra seem to rely on a Snapdragon SoC. Both tablets will continue to use MediaTek chips, specifically the Dimensity 9400+.
Samsung first employed a MediaTek instead of a Snapdragon solution for its premium Galaxy Tab S series last year. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra were the first to switch to MediaTek. They debuted with the Dimensity 9300+ SoC under the hood.
Other details mentioned by the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Geekbench entry (via @tarunvats33) include 12GB of RAM and Android 16. It looks like the Galaxy Tab S11 will be the first premium Samsung tablet series to ship with One UI 8.
As for performance, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra performs a bit better than the Tab S10 Ultra. It scored 2,675 and 8,039 points in single-core and multi-core, respectively. In contrast, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra hovers around 2,100 and 7,200 points.
Samsung hasn’t said anything about the upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 series yet, and for now, the company is busy preparing for next month’s Galaxy Unpacked event, where the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will make their debut.
Nevertheless, the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup was announced in September and released in October, so if Samsung maintains a yearly launch schedule, the Galaxy Tab S11 lineup should be only a few months away.
