Eluru: A tragic accident occurred in Eluru district on Friday, resulting in the death of three tribal youths who drowned in the Pogondi reservoir. The incident took place around 4:00 pm on Friday when Made Devendra Kumar (18), Tellam Seetharamaraju (30), and Tellam Kishore (26), along with two others from China Ravvavarigudem village, went to the reservoir for a swim. Due to high water flow caused by heavy rains in the catchment area, the youths were unable to gauge the quagmire and accidentally drowned. Two others managed to survive. The bodies were shifted to GGH Jangareddigudem for postmortem examination. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. AP information and public relations minister Kolusu Parthasaradhi expressed deep shock over the tragedy.
