Train services hit on Kazipet–Balharshah route after bridge component damaged near Peddapalli

Peddapalli: Train services on the Kazipet–Balharshah route were disrupted after a component of an under-construction rail overbridge (ROB) near Peddapalli railway station was damaged on Friday.

The damage occurred at Kunaram rail level crossing, where one of the clusters of the ROB being constructed developed a technical fault. In response, alert railway officials immediately halted train movement at various stations along the route to prevent any untoward incidents.

Several trains were affected as this line serves as a major rail corridor connecting northern and southern parts of India. The Bhagyanagar Express, which was heading towards Secunderabad from Sirpur Kagaznagar, was halted at Raghavapur railway station. Passengers were seen walking to the nearby Rajiv Rahadari highway to catch buses and continue their journeys.

Upon receiving information, senior railway officials rushed to the site and initiated repair works to restore train operations at the earliest.
