I recently replaced my chain and sprocket, which had clocked around 18,000 km. During a ride to Varanasi and back, the chain dislodged from the sprocket near Nashik. We managed to get it fixed at a local Suzuki showroom, where they advised me to replace it soon after returning home.
However, the response from the Suzuki showroom wasn’t very reassuring, so I decided to get the replacement done at LRL Motors. This local FNG came highly recommended by fellow riders. I checked with them about the availability of the Rolon Sprocket and booked an early morning slot.
I arrived at LRL Motors by 9 AM, and my bike was the first to be worked on.
Interestingly, I had read an article by @sukiwa on Team Bhp (https://www.team-bhp.com/news/instal…ki-v-strom-250) about installing a Rolon chain and sprocket kit on his Suzuki V-Strom 250, which further convinced me to go ahead with Rolon. However, unlike @sukiwa’s experience, I didn’t see the swingarm being removed during my installation (you can check the pictures to verify).
The bike was placed on a stand, and the chain was cut. The tire was then removed, and the installation proceeded smoothly. The entire process was quite straightforward and took about an hour to complete.
Old Sprocket and Chain.
Break pads are still good enough!!
New Sprocket
New Chain
Chain being tightened..
The overall cost was around ₹3600, including installation charges of approximately ₹900. I’ve used the bike for about 100 kilometers since the installation, and it runs smoothly without any issues.
