For this road trip, I used the entire Delhi-Mumbai Expressway end-to-end for the first time.
BHPian sinharishi recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
To summarise:
- Finally used the expressway end-to-end with diversions for the first time.
- It took us 12 hrs from Gurgaon to Vadodara with 3 breaks.
- The expressway stretch, including 2x diversions, a total of 725 KMs, was covered in 8.5 hrs with a refuel stop at Chehchat and breakfast at Old Rao.
- Thandla to Vadodara is a 4-lane highway passing through the busy towns of Halol and Kalol.
- Stayed overnight at Vadodara and continued the drive to Mumbai on the next day, took us 9 hrs from Vadodara to Mumbai with 2 breaks, to compare during the onward journey to Gurgaon, I did Mumbai to Ahmedabad in flat 7 hours.
Breakfast at Old Rao, NE4
The infamous Mukundra Hills bridge, waited 10mins for our turn, thankfully it is managed by cops
Refuel stop at Chechat, this pump has a standalone charger as well
Our favourite place on NH48 for breakfast – Jagdish Snacks!
