Nellore-based VPR Foundation, which has so far distributed 950 plus tricycles to persons with disabilities across SPSR Nellore district, is contemplating to reach out to the visually challenged by conducting special eye camps in every nook and corner of the district under ‘Operation Netra’.
A special bus fitted with all allied testing equipment will ply through the villages to screen the beneficiaries and recommend suitable treatment.
The foundation, run by Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, has so far distributed tricycles in Kovur (200), Nellore Rural (100), Udayagiri (155), Atmakur (160), Kandukur (150), Kavali (160).
