The Hyderabad City Police is preparing to auction a staggering 1,783 abandoned or unclaimed vehicles left at various locations across the city.
The decision follows years of accumulation of such vehicles, ranging from two-wheelers to possibly cars and goods carriers, lying without claimants. Those who believe they have ownership or legal interest in any of these vehicles have been asked to come forward within six months of this notice. Claims must be submitted to the Commissioner of Police at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), Banjara Hills. Failing this, the vehicles will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Details of the vehicles slated for auction can be viewed at the SAR CPL Police grounds, behind the Police Hospital in Amberpet, as well as on the official website of Hyderabad City Police: www.hyderabadpolice.gov.in.
Officials said the auction is part of a routine clean-up drive aimed at clearing police station yards and storage areas that have long been clogged with unclaimed vehicles, some of which have been gathering dust for years.
