Out of the 5 tunnels that we encountered, the Vashala tunnel is really beautifully done.

Just came back from a quick drive on the Samruddhi Mahamarg from Mumbai till Igatpuri.
Me and a friend, driving his VW Tiguan, started from Mumbai at 8.30 am. There is absolute chaos in some places after you exit Thane, which is caused by 6 lanes merging into two lanes. It took us 2.5 hours to reach the Amane entry point because of these bottlenecks. The drive after this till Igatpuri was uneventful but bumpy.

Vashala tunnel is really beautifully done with Warli painting at the entry and exit of the tunnel.

To be honest, I was disappointed with the road surface. The ride is very bumpy and not smooth. I am not sure how it would feel in a sedan.
Toll paid – Rs 215 at Igatpuri exit, and Rs 160 at Mumbai exit while returning.
