HYDERABAD
Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL) Md. Musharraf Faruqui has instructed the senior officers of the utility to visit ‘basthis’ and colonies every Wednesday and interact with consumers so that delivery of services are improved.
In a meeting with chief engineers, superintending engineers and divisional engineers held here on Monday, Mr. Faruqui stated that the utility had decided to implement the artificial intelligence tools for the improvement of consumer services, and power supply supervision would be taken up at the distribution transformer level too from the feeder lever now.
He stated that of the 8,681-11kV feeders in the utility, 6,885 feeders were being supervised with the help of feeder outage management system and the remaining feeders too would be brought under the system soon. On the AI-enabled services, he said power demand-supply-interruption details would be uploaded online instantly to alert the engineers concerned at distribution transformer level.
An analysis of such details would help the utility improve its services at distribution transformer level as it’s already being followed at sub-station and feeder level.
