Vetrimaaran has been in the news lately, due to Vaadivaasal delay and his new movie with Simbu aka STR. The movie pic from a promo shoot leaked and Simbu looked in Vada Chennai film’s character get-up. Many started speculating about the story, characters and some even called it Vada Chennai 2 without Dhanush.

Recently, few more rumors about Dhanush asking Rs.10 crores to give NOC for using IP of Vada Chennai. This resulted in further rumors about Dhanush’s character and his style of business. So, director Vetrimaaran released a video dismissing all the speculations and rumors.

He clearly stated that Simbu’s film will be in same Vada Chennai Universe and it will be a different story but might have characters, too. He did not reveal complete details but clearly remarked that he took necessary permission from Dhanush before deciding to go ahead. He also stated that Dhanush did not ask for money.
