Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath on Tuesday (July 1, 2025) has asked the officials of the Government General Hospital, Kurnool, to speed up the development works and resolve the problems plaguing the hospital.
Mr. Bharath held a meeting with the hospital medical officers and staff to review the development works. He asked officials to ensure there is no power cut in the hospital and also provide UPS connection to AMC, Gynic OT, and super speciality OTs.
Asking the officials not to compromise on security aspects, he wanted installation of CCTVs at strategic positions in the hospital and also make arrangements for street lighting at PG hostel. When officials told that the eye hospital had enough funds but need permissions to procure equipment, Mr. Bharath said he would take up the issue with the District Collector and get the necessary funds.
Mr. Bharath took serious note of complaints that some hospital staff telling patiets to buy medicines outisde. He directed the GGH superintendent to take serious action against such staff.
Mr. Bharath enquired about the adequate number of toilets available for patients and parking facitlies at the hospital premises.
