Hyderabad: After an almost month-long pause, the southwest monsoon has shown signs of revival, with moderate to heavy rainfall recorded across Telangana in the last 48 hours. Not only Hyderabad, but almost all districts have benefitted from good rains, thanks to a low-pressure area over Odisha and neighbouring States.

In a further boost to the monsoon, on Tuesday evening, the IMD Hyderabad issued a heavy rainfall warning for ten districts over the next three to four days. All districts are expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning and strong surface winds at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph.

The districts that have received a heavy rainfall warning for the next 72 hours are Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Medak and Kamareddy.

In Hyderabad, rainfall over the next three to four days will be moderate, with overcast skies and sporadic spells of light rain. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 33 degrees Celsius. Strong surface winds of 30 to 40 kmph are also likely, according to the IMD Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the maximum rainfall recorded between Monday evening and Tuesday morning in several core and surrounding areas under GHMC ranged from 20 mm to 27 mm.

Some of the areas under GHMC that received the highest rainfall include BHEL Factory, Ramachandrapuram (27.3 mm), Tolichowki, Karwan (26.4 mm), Musheerabad, MCH Building (24.8 mm). Among districts, Wargal in Siddipet recorded the highest rainfall of 63.3 mm, followed by Dandepally in Mancherial district with 61.5 mm, Gummadidala mandal in Sangareddy with 58.8 mm, and Bandamadharam in Medchal-Malkajgiri with 56.3 mm.
