The Hero Vida VX2 electric scooter has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 59,540 (ex-showroom). It comes as an affordable alternative to the Vida V2, targeting a wider customer base. The scooter lineup is offered in two variants – Go and Plus – and seven colour options – Metallic Grey, Nexus Blue, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black and Pearl Red.

The entry-level Go variant costs Rs 59,540 with BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) and Rs 99,490 without BaaS, while the Plus variant is priced at Rs 64,990 with BaaS and Rs 1,09,990 without BaaS. At this price point, the Hero Vida VX2 takes on the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak 3001 and Honda QC1.

The Vida VX2 Plus is available with two battery packs with a combined capacity of 3.4kWh, promising an IDC range of 142km on a full charge. It can be fully charged in 5 hours 39 minutes. The entry-level Go variant features a single 2.2kWh battery and returns a claimed range of 92km. It takes 3 hours and 43 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%. Both variants have removable batteries, which can be juiced up from 0 to 100% in 120 minutes using a fast charger.

The batteries are paired with a frame-mounted 6kW electric motor. The Go variant accelerates 0 to 40kmph in 3.1 seconds and offers a maximum speed of 80kmph. It comes with two riding modes – Eco and Ride. The Hero Vida VX2 Plus accelerates 0 to 40kmph in 4.2 seconds and has an electronic speed limit of 70kmph. Along with the Eco and Ride mode, it also gets Sports mode. Hero has limited the top speed of both variants to 45kmph in Eco mode.

Suspension, Brakes & Alloys:

The suspensions system of the VX2 consists of a telescopic fork and a monoshock at the rear. The electric scooter derives its braking power from the front disc and drum and a rear drum brake, which are further assisted by CBS (Combined Braking System). Based on a tubular frame, the Hero Vida VX2 offers a seat height of 777mm and an underseat storage of 27.2-litres (Go variant) and 33.2-litres (Plus variant). There is also a front cubby hole, offering a space of 6.1-litres. The new Hero electric scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels.
