Accelerating its EV push, Hyundai Motor India plans to launch six new models by the financial year 2030 as a part of its long-term powertrain strategy. The carmaker has also revealed that it has EV localization plan to introduce mass-market and affordable Hyundai electric cars. Hyundai already has localized battery system assembly (BSA) and is now teaming up with an Indian partner to localize cells, while also pushing on drivetrain and power electronics localization.
The South Korean automaker is yet to reveal the names and full details of its upcoming electric cars. However, here’s the key information we know so far about the upcoming Hyundai electric cars:

Hyundai Creta Electric Facelift
The updated Creta electric SUV will arrive sometime in 2027. The EV is likely to receive minimal design changes along with a bunch of new comfort features and tech. The existing powertrains are expected to be retained; however, the company might introduce a long-range version with bigger battery pack or updated battery management software.
Hyundai Instner Ev

Codenamed HE1i, the upcoming Hyundai compact electric SUV is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. It’s likely to be to be either the globally sold Inster EV or a model based on it. The Hyundai Inster EV is offered with two battery pack options – Standard 42kWh and Long-Range 49kWh and two motors choices producing power worth 97bhp and 115bhp. The India-spec version might feature the same powertrains.
Hyundai Ioniq 9
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the largest and most expensive electric offering from the South Korean automaker available in the global market. This born-electric SUV will also make its way to India in 2026. It comes in both 6 and 7-seats configurations, and features a 110.3kWh battery pack delivering a claimed WLTP range of up to 620km.
Hyundai Grand i10 EV & Venue EV
The electric versions of the Grand i10 hatchback and the Venue compact SUV are expected to launch in 2028 or 2029. These will be mass-market offerings from the South Korean automaker. While the Hyundai Grand i10 EV will face challenge from the Tata Tiago EV, the Venue EV will take on the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra XVU 3XO EV.
