For the past 3 years, there has always been a long trip each year.
BHPian Duckdoc recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
1,20,000 kms in 4 years: An update
I have a diesel W8 Opt MT bought in March 2021.
Things changed in the first 3 years over stock:
- Installed 3 point seat belt for the middle rear seat.
- Audio upgrade with door damping
- Changed the spare tyre and steel rim to r 17
- Installed dual dash cam
Mechanical replacement:
- Rear brake pads 76,000 km
- Clutch assembly 78,500 km
- Front brake pads 90,000 km
This year was mainly uneventful with multiple weekend trips with a mileage consistently over 18 kmpl.
The one major road trip in the 4th year was a 6,800 km trip to Nepal in September 2024 at the fag end of the monsoon and with landslides and this vehicle pulled through with flying colours.

Having touched 13 States, 1 Union Territory and another country, Nepal so far and fast approaching the age of 60, I can truly say I love driving this vehicle, with hardly any time spent at the ASC , other than for the routine. While the boot space will be a concern for some, we never travel with suitcases, preferring duffel bags.
For the past 3 years, there has always been a long trip each year, visiting classmates in MP and in Bhilai and I hope to continue to do so.
The distance travelled the first 6 months was 10000 kms, 14000 the next six, 26000 kms the next year, 35000 kms the 3rd year and 35000 kms the fourth and I am happy I got the diesel engine. For comparison it took 11 years to touch 1,35,000 kms in my 3rd gen Honda City from 2010.

Odo in March 2025
Post script:
The odo is now at 1,22,275 km and there is a slight noise on going over speed breakers and a slight shudder on hard breaking though not alarming. I checked out the shocks which I plan to change at the next service.
