Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand stated that robust security arrangements have been made in the city with a total of 3,000 police personnel for the forthcoming Muharram procession in the city.
The Commissioner, who visited Bibi Ka Alam in Dar-ul-Shifa at Dabeerpura, marking the 8th day of Muharram on Friday, inspected the security arrangements in place.
Speaking to the media later, he mentioned that numerous coordination meetings were held before Muharram commenced, involving ministers from the government, Shia religious leaders, police, and officials from other departments.
“All necessary precautionary measures were undertaken based on the suggestions received in those meetings. Small daily processions have been taking place over the past 8 days, and full-scale security is being provided for them,” Anand said.
The Commissioner, along with Sneha Mehra, DCP of South Zone inspected the Muharram procession routes and instructed that necessary measures be taken to ensure the procession proceeds smoothly.
