TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud questioned the credibility of BRS MLC K. Kavitha over her letter to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on BC reservations, and called it a strange move.

While speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday, along with AICC secretary Ch Vamshichand Reddy and former MLA Sampath Kumar, he asked whether she had written the letter on behalf of the BRS or Telangana Jagruthi.

“It’s not clear whom she is representing. The tone and tenor of the letter is quite strange from a person who never spoke a word on BC quota when she was an MP and MLC when her father was the Chief Minister,” he said.

Mr. Goud said that Ms. Kavitha’s political credibility is at stake and seeing a political vaccum, she has taken up the BC cause after being silent for 10 years. At least, she should prove if she had opposed reduction in BC reservations by her father KCR when he was the CM.

The TPCC president refused to speak on Congress MLA Anirudh Reddy’s remarks indirectly charging a Minister involved in Banakacherla project, and said that the party’s Disciplinary Committee will take a note of it.

Kharge’s Presence

Mr. Goud said that Mr. Kharge’s presence at the “Social Justice Samara Bheri” will be a big boost to the 40,000-odd presidents of Congress village units and leaders from all levels. Mr. Kharge is set to address the gathering and give a direction to the party’s grassroots leaders.

On the Banakacherla project controversy, he took a dig at BRS leader Harish Rao, asking who dined with AP ministers and compromised on Telangana’s water share at YSRCP leader Roja’s house?
