Hyderabad: The Bibi ka Alam procession taken out on Youm e Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, was taken out from Alaw e Bibi on Sunday. The standard was taken out on an elephant, Lakshmi, brought for the procession from Karnataka by the organisers.
The procession started as usual at 1 pm from the Alwa e Bibi. However, till 3 pm it could not cross the Etebar Chowk junction. The elephant stopped for around 10 minutes at two places during the procession, leading to a slowdown of the procession.
The police made elaborate security arrangements and deployed around 2000 personnel.
