My Ducati Multistrada V2: 10,000km annual update

The ownership is truly blissful till now and hope it stay the same in future

Bhpian abhi_tjet recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

10k kms and annual service update

My Multistrada V2 will complete 2 years of ownership in a fortnight and has crossed 10k kms in odometer.
Owning a Ducati was a dream and Multi is clearly excelling in all areas.

Few points to re-affirm

  • Multistrada is heavy. It weighs less than most of its competitors, but it’s heavy in isolation and that matters. One has to be very cautious in tight right hand turns, U turns, gravel on curve, steep curve, places with loose rocks – you got the gist, I suppose.
  • Once moving and as you gain speed, it’s nimble. Even for orderly moving traffic, it’s easy to manage with minimum balancing act required till you actually stop.
  • It’s deceptively fast, way more capable than I can ever be. Handles decently too, I can never challenge its limit .
  • Fuel efficient.
  • An attention magnet and gets respect from most of people and riders.
  • The torque surge is way more than rear can handle, one has to be careful.
  • I have fiddled with rear suspension for compression and got a good place as per my weight. I keep on changing the pre-load as per the planned route and whether I am with pillion or solo.
  • I haven’t detailed it once yet. Man, this needs serious amount of Vitamin M which I just lack.

The ownership is truly blissful till now and hope it stay the same in future. As mentioned in earlier post, there wasn’t much riding in summer this year but I am back to riding scene with fervour.

The odo was stuck in 9000’s for a while and I wanted to complete 10k before the annual service.

Below are some clicks from recent rides –

Despite the heavy influx of tourists, early morning ride experience to Tamhini remains unbeaten. It’s therapy.

Back home by 10!

Quick one to Lonavla.. since I had to start for Mumbai for the Skoda drive event

Went for a longer ride, the next week – somewhere near Panchgani

I was here for the first time

Mesmerised by the calmness

A click along a water body always brings the best!

Mountains too

Service reminders started coming.

Accordingly, got the service done last week. There was no specific ask as such.

  • Battery health was good.
  • Along with regulars, they bled the clutch and breaks.
  • I also got the air filter replaced which costed a cool ₹4500 without GST.
  • Break pad is further good for around 5k kms at least.
  • Total bill came around ₹20k.
  • I got a generic error indicator on console while riding the bike next day. I got it checked today and there was a brake sensor error stored in bike’s memory. They diagnosed it to brake sensor being over sensitive giving false error. They have changed the rear brake sensor setting in bike near lever so that light should glow only when it’s actually pressed and not just when it’s touched.
  • I am not sure why it occurred but will monitor this if it re occurs.
  • Got the insurance renewed. RSA is pending.

My first time watching bike like this.

So, focused my mind on these last edition of older gen Panigale V4’s

These were delivery bikes

Man, how can you improve perfection!

Couple of Mono’s too for delivery

All set for 10k ride – the very next day after annual service

The moment came
