Vijayawada: Making the govt priorities clear, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said delay in the execution of projects in Amaravati is not acceptable, for whatsoever reason it may be. Naidu said that the institutions allotted lands must adhere to the timelines in the completion of works, as per the terms of the agreements made with the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). Naidu called for a meeting with the representatives of all the institutions allotted land and the higher officials of CRDA to take stock of the status of works in capital Amaravati. The officials explained to the chief minister that as many as 72 institutions were given 947 acres of land in capital Amaravati. Out of the total allotments, 886.21 acres of land were allotted to 61 institutions. The decision taken by the CRDA to allot 61.5 acres awaits cabinet approval. The representatives of 61 institutions that were given land attended the meeting with the Chief Minister on Tuesday. While 10 institutions have already launched works, 3 institutions said they will begin work in July. While 15 institutions said the works will start within two months, 13 institutions sought five months, and 17 institutions asked for six months to launch the works. Only three institutions completed the construction of their buildings.Addressing the representatives of various institutions, Naidu said that Amaravati is uniquely planned and is being built to meet future needs. He said it is not just another city but a hub of high-end technology designed with AI and quantum valley concepts. The institutions that received land here are not just occupants but partners in the historic journey of the most futuristic city, said Naidu.Assuring all support from the govt through single-window clearances, Naidu asked to approach him directly if any delay occurs from the govt side. He urged the institutions to ensure that their buildings are designed with global standards. “The structures must enhance the image of Amaravati,” said Naidu. As institutions like RBI, HUDCO, and major banks are among the allottees, Naidu welcomed suggestions to make Amaravati a financial nerve centre.Representatives from the hotel sector requested additional land allotment of 2 to 2.5 acres for convention centres. Some institutions sought extra land for parking facilities. The postal department proposed setting up a training centre. Naidu urged all institutions to generate employment in capital Amaravati.
