Hyderabad: The school students of Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) in a remote Adavi Srirampur village in Peddapalli district have turned into cynosure of all eyes for effectively using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to clear doubts in their subjects.
The students of eighth, ninth and tenth classes, are using AI and clarifying their doubts with the assistance of the teachers concerned with the help of an Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) with internet connection provided by Telangana Fiber Grid Corporation Limited (T-Fiber).
“On seeing the interest of students, we also provide microphones connected to IFP for their convenience,” School Head Master E Odelu told Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday.
He said the students were clearing their doubts using AI tools with various apps along with Perplexity, a free AI-powered answer engine offering accurate, trusted, and real-time answers to any question.
As the news of government school students using AI drew the attention of everyone, the district Collector, Koya Sree Harsha, has decided to visit the school and interact with students on Thursday. With the school hogging the limelight in the district, the head master exuded confidence over increasing the students’ strength by next academic year.
Presently, the strength of the school from sixth to tenth standards is 39. The school witnessed a massive transformation after Congress came to power with T-Fiber providing internet connection apart from providing IFP a year ago.
Since then the students started using Google, Youtube videos and other apps in case of doubt. But for the last 10 days, they are using AI tools, setting an example to other students, Odelu explained, adding that the students were getting responses from AI tools within seconds on the IFP screen.
When contacted, T-Fiber managing director Venu Prasad Panneeru said the government school at Adavi Srirampur was among 60 schools where the T-Fiber provided internet connection to help students under BharatNet project.
He expressed happiness for utilizing T-Fiber’s initiative and gaining knowledge with the latest technology. T-Fiber has also made a documentary on how students use AI tools in the school.
