Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX launched: New variants and features explained

Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX launched: New variants and features explained BHPian Omkar recently shared this with other enthusiasts: In an attempt to keep the 3XO fresh in the market, Mahindra has launched a new series called as the ‘REVX’. The series includes 3 new variants – REVX M, REVX M(O) and REVX A. The REVX M & M(O) are placed between the base MX1 and MX2 Pro variants (MX2 is also a base variant that is available only with the diesel engine). The idea behind these variants is that they’ll offer a bit more value over the base variants. So, it’s worth noting that these variants will be available only with the 1.2L MPFI turbo-petrol engine with a manual transmission. Here’s a look at the placement of the REVX M & M(O) variants in the 3XO lineup: The REVX M & M(O) also get some feature additions, which include – black leatherette seats, dual tone roof, body-coloured grille, black wheel covers, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment mated to a 4-speaker audio setup, remote keyless entry, follow-me-home headlamps, and driver seat height adjust. The REVX M(O) variant comes with a single-pane sunroof. Lastly, the ex-showroom prices for these variants are -REVX M – Rs. 8.94 Lakh REVX M(O) – Rs. 9.44 Lakh Another variant that has been launched is the REVX A whose prices are – REVX A MT – Rs. 11.79 lakh REVX A AT – Rs. 12.99 lakh Unlike the REVX M & M(O) variants, the REVX A variant is available in both manual and automatic options. It’s available with the 1.2L TGDi turbo-petrol engine and is placed between the AX5 and AX5L variants (the top-end variants are the AX7 and AX7 L). The idea behind this new variant was to make the TGDi turbo-petrol engine more accessible. Just a quick look at the features that the REVX A gets over the AX5 variant – Panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats, dual tone roof, piano black alloys and body-coloured grille. Here’s a look at how the REVX A variant fits in the 3XO lineup: Mahindra invited us to take a closer look at this new REVX series. This is the REVX A variant on display: This is the Tango Red shade, and the REVX series is available in 4 more colour options – Galaxy Grey, Nebula Blue, Everest White and Stealth Black: Big change is the body-coloured grille, which is finished in piano black on the regular 3XO (reference image). I think the black grille looks better than the body coloured grille. Maybe if the logo and the grille elements had been finished in black instead of chrome, it would’ve looked more in line with the theme of this REVX series: LED fog lamps are available on the AX7 variant, which is why the round slot below the headlamp is blank: Like the regular 3XO, you get the TGDi Automatic badge on the left fender: Roof-coloured ORVMs. These don’t have the side camera for the 360-degree view setup that’s available on the AX5 L & AX7 L variants: 16-inch black painted alloy wheels (AX7 gets 17-inch diamond cut alloys) shod with 205/65 section tyres: All-wheel disc brakes are standard across all variants: You get a REVX badge on the C-pillar: Another highlight of the REVX A variant is the dual-tone roof. Also note the panoramic sunroof that you get over the AX5 variant: No change to the rear of the car… … except for this REVX badge instead of the usual variant badge: There are a few changes to the interiors as well: Big change is the addition of black leatherette seats with manual adjustment, but still no seat ventilation: Just like the AX5 variant, you get this 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster… … and this 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system: Top-end variant gets a soft-touch leatherette insert on the passenger side of the dashboard, but this is hard plastic on the REVX A: No glovebox illumination or cooling (AX7 gets): Good to see Mahindra offering the auto-dimming IRVM on the REVX A variant: A regular USB port (AX7 gets a 65 W USB-C fast charging port as well) and wireless charging: The 3XO uses the 3rd-gen Aisin 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox: Metallic pedals look good: Panoramic sunroof on the REVX A variants: A look at the rear seats with the black leatherette upholstery: You get a Type-C USB port in the back: The REVX A variant is available with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with gasoline direct injection (GDi) producing 129 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 230 Nm @ 1,500-3,750 rpm. It is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission as well as a 6-speed manual transmission: The petrol engine is E20 compatible: Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
