The all-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is all set to launch in India on 17th July, 2025. Bookings for the new model are now open at all BMW dealerships and online. With this generational upgrade, the executive sedan gets bigger, sportier and significantly better over its predecessor. Initially, it will be offered only with a turbocharged petrol engine.

First thing first, the powertrain. Under the hood, the new 2 Series features a 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This setup delivers a claimed power of 156bhp, down from 190bhp (2.2L) of the outgoing model. Its torque output stands at 230Nm. The executive sedan comes with the same FWD (front wheel drive) system.

The second-gen 2 Series appears sportier than before, featuring a backlight grille, adaptive LED slimmer headlamps, front and rear bumpers with blacked-out elements and dual-tone 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. Compared to the previous generation, the new model is 20mm longer and 25mm taller. Its overall length, width and height now stand at 4,546mm, 1,800mm and 1,445mm, respectively. The sedan has wheelbase of 2,670mmand offers a boot space of 430-litres.

The new-gen BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is estimated to be price around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will take on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, which is available at a starting price of Rs 46.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
