Rs 5 Breakfast Among 20 Proposals At GHMC Meet Today


Hyderabad:The GHMC will launch a breakfast scheme at Indiramma Canteens in mid-July, offering a meal for ₹5 with support from the Hare Krishna Charitable foundation. Each meal costs ₹19, of which customers pay ₹5 while the remaining amount is subsidised.

A GHMC official noted that 139 new Indiramma Canteens are planned across the city. The proposal is slated for approval at the corporation’s Standing Committee meeting on Thursday, where a total of 20 proposals will be considered.

Among the other major items is the creation of the Hyderabad Sculpture Park around the KBR Park walkway in Jubilee Hills, a project to be developed in partnership with the Krishnakriti Foundation. The committee will also take up plans to rejuvenate Mallai Kunta, Bachu Kunta, Gosai Kunta, Chakalvani Cheruvu, and Moosa Kunta in the Serilingampally zone. WaterAid India will undertake this rejuvenation work over 24 months as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Additional proposals include widening and developing a 100-foot road from the Road over Bridge at Shastripuram to the Inner Ring Road near Mehfil Hotel, at an estimated cost of ₹4.95 crore, and repairing and strengthening the main bund of the large tank at Saroornagar, budgeted at ₹5.60 crore.
