Recently, she and her husband Vignesh Shivn have been cornered in controversies about the usage of clips from Chandramukhi and Naanum Rowdythaan films without necessary permissions from the respective producers.
Dhanush, who produced Naanum Rowdythaan, has asked for Rs.10 crores for using 3 seconds of clips and AP International had moved to court for using Chandramukhi clips. Madras High Court have directed Nayanthara, Netflix to pay Rs.5 Crores compensation to producers.
