The Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) and Kurnool police on Friday conducted a surprise check in Guntur Express as part of a drive to prevent illegal transportation of ganja.
The searches were conducted at the Kurnool Railway Station in Train No. 17254 Guntur Express travelling from Kacheguda to Guntur in coordination with Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police on Friday. Sniffer dogs were also deployed.
During the searches, the police told passengers to inform illegal transportation or consumption of ganja on toll free no 1972 or on Dial 112 and the identity of the informant would be kept a secret.
