A new lyrical video from Coolie is out, and it’s already trending everywhere. Titled Monica, the song features Pooja Hegde in a glamorous and energetic look. What’s surprising is that neither Rajinikanth nor Nagarjuna appears in the video. Instead, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir is seen dancing with full energy, which shocked and amused fans.
Set in a shipyard backdrop, the song has a catchy tune composed by Anirudh Ravichander. While the lyrics may seem confusing at first, the music grows on listeners, the kind of tune that feels like “slow poison.” Fans are loving the beat, and the visuals are stylish.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj once again shows his unique style. Using a big star like Pooja Hegde for a song without the lead cast is something only he could pull off confidently. His strategy of building hype through songs without revealing much of the film’s actual content is working well.
While War 2 hasn’t released even a single song yet, Coolie is winning the buzz game. Rajinikanth plays a gangster working in a harbour, with Nagarjuna as the villain. Upendra and Aamir Khan are also playing special roles in the film.
Reports from Chennai media suggest that Coolie might release directly in theatres without even a trailer. Post-production is in its final stage, and the team is aiming to lock the first copy with BGM by the end of July. Lokesh, known for his quality work, has been developing this project for two years. Even though Rajinikanth finished his part quickly, more time is being spent on background score and editing. Tamil fans are hoping this will become the first ₹1000 crore film from Tamil Nadu.
