Sandeep Reddy Vanga has established himself as a star director with a cult following, thanks to a string of blockbusters like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal. Following the release of Animal, he promptly announced his next film, Spirit, with Prabhas in the lead role.
At the time, Vanga stated that the script for “Spirit” was already complete and he intended to begin shooting six to seven months after Animal’s release. Since Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, hit theaters in December 2023, the plan was to start “Spirit” in 2024. However, the shoot was later pushed to January 2025. Now, as we enter July 2025, filming has still not begun.
The delays are primarily due to Prabhas’s packed schedule and recent health issues. As a result, Vanga has lost nearly two years on this crucial project. Determined not to waste any more time, he is finally taking the film to the sets. The shooting is now scheduled to begin in September this year.
Meanwhile, the music sessions for “Spirit” have been completed. Music plays a vital role in Vanga’s storytelling, and he is aiming to deliver a musical blockbuster this time. Prabhas’s recent films lacked memorable songs, but Vanga is determined to change that. Harshavardhan Rameshwar is composing the soundtrack and is expected to deliver some of the best tracks of his career.
