HYDERABAD: BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Thursday raised concerns about the rise in paddy cultivation across Telangana and its limited export potential. Addressing a press conference, he said that foreign countries are increasingly reluctant to import paddy grown with excessive urea, a common practice in the state.He said the Centre has advised Telangana farmers to reduce paddy cultivation and minimise urea usage, warning that without change, there may be no viable market for their produce. “Excessive reliance on urea-grown crops is hurting long-term prospects for farmers,” he said.He criticised the civic authorities in Hyderabad for what he termed ‘biased demolitions. “The system appears rigged in favour of powerful.
