Hyderabad: The shed at the TSRTC MGBS parking area stands half-caved in, its slanted tin roof drooping over rows of two-wheelers packed tightly underneath. Rust lines the frame, and one side of the sheet has sunk completely, held up awkwardly by bent metal rods.
At the entrance, a damaged board propped against a railing reads Accident Prone Area in bold red letters, placed beside a torn sign bearing the official TSRTC and ParkMate logos.
Despite the condition, the space remains in daily use. Scooters and bikes are parked as usual, some just inches away from the tilted frame. A couple of workers in the lot say the shed came down during heavy rain about four months ago and has stayed that way since.
“No one has repaired it. People still park here every day,” one of them said, shrugging. A police official nearby mentioned there had been a funding issue. “It’s under a private contractor and the delay is due to some funding concern,” the officer added, glancing at the barricade.
TSRTC Rangareddy regional manager Srilatha confirmed that the contractor was refusing to spend the Rs.1.5 lakh needed for repairs since his contract is set to end in a month. “He’s not willing to fix it. But we will ensure no cars get parked there anymore,” she said.
