I certainly felt lucky with this purchase.

Although doing little late, I thought I’ll share an exciting update with the Civic community. Here we go..
After 6 months of waiting & search, I had finally bought a 2020 Civic Vx CVT. I certainly felt lucky with this purchase, as I found a car with a low mileage of 28K over five years (I did background check via my Honda contact for odometer genuity). Apparently the owner seems to have taken good care, with regular maintenance at Honda SCs.
I’m from Bangalore. After few months of look-out, I realized I need to search beyond broader, which led me to scan entire south market (MH, TS, AP, TN & KL) & I finally landed up in Mumbai.
My initial reflections (1000km drive, over last 1 month, yet to drive long trips)
- Terrific stability, specifically over high speeds. You will feel the weight of the car as you drive (clearly well built for D1 segment)
- Surely a head-turner.. few even asked me if I had imported this car
- Great road presence.
- Given its low seating, ingress & egress certainly not very comfortable. But, that’s okay given all the other things in its favor.
Question to fellow Civic did anyone try upgrading the OEM audio unit ?
I OEM unit feels a bit outdated, given the recent cars come with bigger screens & also with wireless Android Auto/Apple Car-play. So, I preferred to upgrade.
I have zeroed down on two AUs, Pioneer 6650BT & Blaupunkt Sanjose 1020, both 9″ options. I found a suitable finisher too (despite the model was discontinued 5 yrs ago). But, the challenge is with Can-bus (harness). I live it North Bangalore. Local accessory technicians sourced three can-buses, but none of them worked.
Here is the challenge: Civic’s audio display also reflects AC temparature, as you toggle the ACs knobs below the unit. But the retrofitted can-buses (atleast the ones I sourced) aren’t capable of taking AC control inputs to the display.
Having tried enough with my car accessories network in Bangalore, I’m now in a dilemna if I ever be able to upgrade the OEM audio unit.
Did anyone got the upgrade successful. If so, please help advice. I dont mind exploring beyond Bangalore.
