Hyderabad: The main Nala road collapsed at Darussalam, Goshamahal on Tuesday, causing significant damage to vehicles. The incident involved multiple vehicles, including an auto-rickshaw, a car, and a tractor, falling into the cavity. The vehicles became trapped on the primary route leading to Darussalam.
However, a potentially severe accident was averted with no injuries reported. Commuters using this crucial thoroughfare were hit with heavy traffic congestion. This marks the fifth time the Nala road collapsed since the past year, with the main nala structure giving way again.
Residents criticised the civic body for their lack of response to repeated complaints about the deteriorating Nala road condition.
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, accompanied by Khairatabad zonal commissioner Anurag Jayanti, conducted a site inspection. They assured the residents that the tender process would commence in 24 hours. tnn
