The Phoenix Suns start their 2025 NBA Summer League on Friday night as they take on the Washington Wizards.

Of course, the Suns have had a busy offseason thus far as they have made multiple changes to their roster after missing the playoffs last season.

They began their offseason by trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and they then landed Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets during the first round of the NBA draft.

During the draft, they selected Khaman Maluach with the 10th overall pick which they acquired in the Durant trade and they also drafted Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea.

All three players are expected to make their NBA debuts on Friday night during the Summer League.

Ahead of Friday’s game, Ryan Dunn, who is entering his second NBA season with the Suns, made a clear statement about Maluach.

“I can trust him if I get blown by, he could meet somebody at the rim, which I love. That helps us all be aggressive defensively now, cause he’s trying to go get every blocked shot, every rebound, and he just plays with a high motor every day,” Dunn said about Maluach.

It is clear that Dunn, along with the entire Suns’ organization, is excited to play alongside Maluach, especially due to his defensive abilities.

Of course, Maluach starred in his freshman season at Duke last year alongside fellow lottery picks Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel.

Last season, the 18-year-old center averaged 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 71.2% from the field and 25.0% from three.

Maluach now joins a Suns team in desperate need of a shot blocker after their struggles at the center position last season and they hope that he can get off to a fast start in his Summer League debut on Friday night.

Fans can catch Dunn, Maluach and the Suns take on the Wizards on Friday night from Las Vegas at 9:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.
