HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Friday directed the state govt not to insist that a group of seven professors, who were recently promoted to the rank of additional director of medical education, accept their promotions. The doctors said the department was compelling them to accept promotions and had begun the process to relieve them from present postings despite their unwillingness to accept the promotion. They cited health reasons and their interest in teaching rather than administrative responsibilities. The professors have submitted their representation to the department, their counsels Bobbili Srinivas and L Ravichander told the court. Justice Rajeshwar Rao awarded them interim relief and posted the matter to July 22.
