Time for another family trip, this time to Somasila, 4-hour journey from Hyderabad. 4 adults and 1 kid, started in my Phoenix and enjoyed the scenic route along the National Highway 65. The road is well-maintained and safe, and has many facilities and amenities along the way. The distance between Hyderabad and Somasila is about 180 km, and the travel time is about 4 to 5 hours, depending on the traffic and the speed.
Started at 07:50 AM in the morning, had breakfast at a roadside restaurant. Reached Somasila view point at 12:30. Checked in Highland resort, nearby the view point. 2500 bucks for an AC room per night. Rooms were decent, nothing fancy. The view point is at a walkable distance from the stay.
Caution: If you are a vegetarian, then you will struggle to find any pure veg restaurants. We took home cooked lunch.
Only activity is high speed boat rides, they will charge you 200 per person. Rest just enjoy the view and Krishna water touching your feet. Few temples were visited which were nearby.

This time got a mileage of 15 kmpl. I never get less than 18 kmpl on highway trips. Very few times I left it idling.
