Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police arrested a person on charges of committing a series of thefts in twin cities.
The police seized Rs.5.97 lakh in cash from the possession of the arrested person identified as Shaik Hafeezuddin (22), a wall painter and resident of Shah Colony in Dabeerpura. As he got addicted to bad habits and unable to meet his luxurious expenses, Hafeezuddin started committing thefts. Earlier, he had already committed several thefts and went to jail, but he did not change his behavior.
On July 11, at around 2 pm, he noticed a huge crowd near a religious place at Ganga Nagar nala in Rein Bazaar and decided to steal valuables. He opened a scooty’s boot using a duplicate key and found a black polythene cover with a large amount of cash inside and stole it.
Following a tip-off, the police caught him and recovered the stolen cash, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Andhe Srinivasa Rao.
