I have been getting a fuel efficiency of 26 kmpl and I am very happy with it.

40,000 kms Update

It has been a very happy 2 years and five months with my Interceptor 650. February 2023 saw me taking delivery of this lovely machine and 40,000 kms down the road, I have absolutely no complaints.

At 4500 kms, I went for the Powerage end cans and Hitchkock bar end mirrors. The mirrors I bought from bhpian @ tharian. The end cans resulted in a lot of weight loss and the bike felt visibly lighter and did not heat up as before.

At around 28,000 km, I got the header pipes changed as well. This made the bike a bit more free. Later on, I removed the baffle pipes that came with the Powerage end cans and put in long baffles that they manufacture. These pipes brought down the exhaust volume to a more decent level.

Lastly, I swapped out the stock bulbs with LED bulbs which help me ride comfortably at night. Most of my riding is done in the dark, so I find this update very useful.

My bike has had two punctures, both at home, and rectified via RSA. The bike refused to start once, which a battery charge solved, again via RSA. I changed the chain sprocket set and front brake pads at 30k kms.

Other than that, it has been routine maintenance at the service center. There are a few things that could be better but I have absolutely no complaints. This machine has given me a lot of joy and happiness when I went through a very dark phase in my life.

Last but not least, I have been getting a mileage of 26 kmpl which I am very happy with. I hardly ride within the city or in traffic, so no complaints at all.

Looking forward to a few thousand kilometres more. Attached are some pictures of the journey.
