The death toll in the Sigachi Industries explosion climbed to 45 after a 23-year-old employee, Tarak, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chandanagar on Monday (July 14, 2025).

Superintendent of Patancheru Government Hospital Srinivas Reddy confirmed that Tarak succumbed to injuries on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, eight workers are still ‘missing’ since the blast on June 30 at the company’s facility in Pashamylaram, Sangareddy district. Despite extensive rescue efforts, eight workers remain unaccounted for.

Sangareddy district collector P. Pravinya, in a statement issued on July 10, said the eight missing individuals have not yet been declared dead. “These eight individuals are officially listed as ‘missing’ in the district records. None of the DNA samples have matched with them. We have counselled the families of the eight about this situation. A report stating the same is being sent to the government,” she said.

The collector added that around 70 sets of human remains were recovered from the blast site and sent for DNA analysis. Further action, including possible formal declaration of death of the missing workers, will depend on instructions from the State government.
