A midnight fire broke out at an apartment near Gauhar Function Hall in Moghalpura, Hyderabad. Firefighters rescued five persons, including a physically challenged man and a paralysis patient. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined

Hyderabad: Firefighters rescue five trapped in Moghalpura apartment blaze


Hyderabad: Five persons who were trapped in a building at Moghalpura, where a fire broke out on Tuesday night, were rescued by firefighters.

The five persons, Syed Abdul Kareem, who is physically challenged, Mohammed Rizwanuddin, a paralysis patient, Atiya Begum, Farheen Begum and Syed Imam Jafar, were in the building when the fire broke out.


The fire started around midnight in a flat in an apartment building near Gauhar Function Hall, Moghalpura. On receiving information, firefighters from Moghalpura fire station reached the spot. On learning about a family trapped in a flat, the rescuers immediately went inside the building and brought out the five people.

The fire was later doused. The exact cause of the fire is being ascertained.
