Now I need to get a couple of panels painted, which were fading, and then detailing. That should make it bright and shiny!

7 Years and 104071 Kms Update

The car had its annual service in February at around the 1.01L mark. Apart from the regular filters and oil change, the VBelt was also changed. Given my high running, I was told to get my Timing Belt also changed soon, which typically is done in 8 Years or 1.2L Kms.
From April end the Varta battery had been giving problems. VW replaced it under warranty in June. Last weekend, over the 150-200 km, the car showed the coolant drop sign thrice. Monday morning, I promptly took the car to the workshop. Upon diagnosis, it was found that the leakage was from the coolant pump. The car is currently out of warranty and will complete 7 years on 18 July 2025. The coolant pump was last changed in November 2023, around the 86000 Km mark, when it was in extended warranty.
Upon raising the hue and cry about how parts could fail in 1.5 yrs and in 18k Kms, VW initially offered a goodwill gesture of a 50/50 cost split. But when I went to pay the bill, they paid 83% and my share was 17%. Really, kudos to them. So the total cost to me was about Rs. 31xx.
In addition to this, I had to pay for the flushing and the new coolant reservoir tank since the old one had scales.
Since the water pump was opened, I also got the timing belt changed.
The car came home in the afternoon

Now I need to get a couple of panels painted, which were fading, and then detailing. That should make it bright and shiny!
P.S: My 1Lac km done 2 ton car gives better mileage than by quarter ton weighing bike.
