MG M9 Electric MPV India Launch On July 21

JSW MG Motor India has confirmed the launch of the all-electric M9 MPV will take place on July 21. The first product to be retailed through MG’s ‘Select’ premium dealership network, the M9 will become the most expensive product to be retailed by MG in India upon its launch. The M9 will be shipped into India as a semi knocked-down unit, and will be offered in a single, fully-loaded variant.

Visually, the M9 is characterised by its boxy proportions and near flat roofline. The front end of the vehicle gets sleek daytime-running lamps, which sit above the angular headlight clusters. The front bumper of the MPV features chrome accents. The rear, on the other hand, gets a full-width taillamp. On the inside, the M9 features a minimalistic layout, with a 12.23-inch central touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. The second row comes with what MG calls “Presidential Seats, which come with heating, ventilation, massage functions and fold-out ottomans. The seats also feature armrest-mounted touchscreen controls.

When it comes to features, the EV is offered with a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, a single-pane sunroof, three drive modes, a digital IRVM, and a PM 2.5 air filter. There’s also a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) compatibility and a 55-litre frunk.

On the powertrain front, the MG M9 is equipped with a 90 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery that powers an electric motor mounted on the front axle. The peak power output for the EV is 245 bhp and 350 Nm. MG claims a range of up to 500 km for the EV.
