It has been known for a while that Tesla was working on a long-wheelbase Model Y, and the first pictures have been leaked prior to launch. Documents filed with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reveal a long-wheelbase version of the Model Y, dubbed the Model Y L, configured with three rows of seating. It comes with a stretched cabin and more power as well. The Model Y L comes with six seats instead of seven, so captain seats can be expected in the second row. Dimensions-wise, it is 4,976 mm long or 186 mm longer than the regular Model Y, and also 44 mm taller. The wheelbase has been extended by 150 mm to 3,040 mm. Other new features expected are unique wheels, an updated spoiler, new seats and a new gold paint shade. The Model Y L will come with more power and is expected to develop 456 BHP. The regular Model Y puts out 443 BHP. Tesla has also hinted earlier that a seven-seater variant is also in the works. The Tesla Model Y is expected to launch in China in the next couple of months, followed by a debut in North America soon after. Back home, Tesla made its India debut on 15th July launching the Model Y along with its first showroom in Mumbai. Source: Carscoops
