
Indore retained the ‘cleanest city’ position for the eighth time in a row in the government’s annual cleanliness survey. The top position was followed by Surat and Navi Mumbai.

Indore was declared the cleanest city among “Super Swachh League Cities” by President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday, as the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards were announced.

While Indore has once again been declared the cleanest city in India, securing the top position for the eighth consecutive year, Surat has been recognised as the second cleanest city in the country.

Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai retained the third position in the ‘Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25’.

In the 2025 rankings of India’s cleanest cities, Visakhapatnam secured the 4th position.

Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh has been recognised as the fifth cleanest cities in India in 2025. While it hasn’t consistently held the 5th position, it has achieved top 10 rankings in the Swachh Survekshan surveys, including the 3rd position in 2021. In the 2023 rankings, Vijayawada was placed 6th.
