Hyderabad: After the heavy downpour on Friday evening, rainwater found its way into the recently revived Bathukammakunta in Amberpet. HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath said: “All this water would have been otherwise on roads or colonies.”
Earlier in the day, Ranganath along with Hyderabad collector Harichandana Dasari participated in a celebration at Bathukammakunta along with school children.
Speaking at the occasion, the collector said “HYDRAA reviving and rejuvenating the lake is a national record. Our city is known for chain-linked lakes, and it is our responsibility to restore our city’s pride.”
“We will continue our works here, and on September 21, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will come here for Bathukamma celebrations”, Ranganath said.
