In an exciting news for Telugu Film Industry enthusiasts, Gopichand’s next project backed by UV Creations would be an adventure drama set in a post-independence backdrop, sources reveal.
Mounted on a substantial budget, the film would be directed by debutant Ashwin Madasu. Production is expected to begin in the last week of March 2026, after Gopichand completes his two ongoing projects.
“Gopichand will be seen in the lead role, playing a fictional character. Although the story is set in a post-independence backdrop, it is not about independence itself,” a reliable source said.
“The script work is nearing completion. The film will go on floors only after Gopichand wraps up his ongoing two projects,” the source added.
“Gopichand’s is currently working on a project with Sankalp Reddy under the Srinivasa Silver Screen banner, and the other is with a debutant director under the Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra (SVCC) banner,” he said.
Regarding the female lead, the source added, “The makers are planning to cast a fresh face. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.”
Talking about debutant director Ashwin Madasu, the source shared, “Ashwin has previously worked as an associate director for Run Raja Run and Saaho, and also directed the award-winning short film Pink Lady. This will be his first full-fledged directorial venture.”
The source concluded, “The film will be shot in Telugu and Tamil, and dubbed in Hindi. While the team is targeting a late March 2026 start, the dates are yet to be confirmed as Gopichand is currently completing his two projects at a rapid pace.”
