A government school teacher, M. Devika (35), was found dead at her residence in Chodimalla village on the outskirts of Eluru in the early hours of Sunday. According to initial reports, she was discovered hanging at her home.
Her husband, Surendra, who is also a government school teacher, was found in the same house with bleeding injuries. Locals rushed him to the Eluru Government General Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
The couple, married for 10 years, have two children.
Police have shifted Devika’s body to the mortuary and are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death. A detailed investigation is underway.
