Drishyam 3 is scheduled to release in all three languages in 2026. While the official announcements of the Malayalam and Hindi versions with Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal in the lead have created excitement, a new update is now trending online.
Jeethu Joseph, who directed the original Malayalam versions, recently confirmed in an interview that there were discussions to start both versions at the same time. However, he managed to stop the Hindi makers from entering production before the Malayalam version starts filming.

Jeethu confirmed a final decision has not been taken yet on both versions being filmed simultaneously and although the plan was to start the Hindi version before Malayalam, the makers stopped after being told that the situation might be dealt legally.
Jeethu said that the Malayalam version is supposed to start production in October 2025 and the script is yet to be finalized. On the other hand, the makers of the Hindi version are yet to respond to the claims made by Jeethu in his interview.

Meanwhile, the interview has hinted that a simultaneous release might not happen for both versions. But in case the Malayalam version completes filming by the end of this year or the beginning of next year, the Hindi version can enter production and arrive in theatres by October 2, 2026.
It seems like the Hindi makers have to keep waiting until Jeethu allows them to enter production. Drishyam has been a franchise that turned out to be successful due to the cooperation from the makers of all the versions. No one would like to damage this bonding with a legal dispute.
